QuickBooks bank feeds via Open Banking

QuickBooks Online connects new bank feeds through Open Banking, part of Australia's Consumer Data Right, and banks are phasing out older feed types. Only the primary account holder can authorise the connection, so you sign in to your bank while we get each account ready beforehand and check what the feed downloads afterwards. The details below are from Intuit's help article on connecting a new bank account.

What we do with QuickBooks bank feeds

  • Check whether each account needs a data sharing delegate, as some company, partnership and trust accounts do, before the connection is attempted.
  • Categorise the transactions in the Pending tab before a new feed is connected, so the books are current when it starts.
  • Link each feed to the right account in your chart of accounts and choose the date its transactions import from.
  • Plan the move from a legacy feed to Open Banking ahead of its disconnection date, and prompt the account holder to renew the consent when it falls due.
  • Leave unwanted lines excluded rather than deleting them, and bring in transactions by CSV file for account types your bank doesn't yet support.

How we connect a QuickBooks bank feed

  1. 01

    Check the accounts

We confirm which accounts are payment accounts that Open Banking supports, and whether any need a data sharing delegate first.

  2. 02

    Clear the Pending tab

Pending transactions are categorised, so the new feed starts from current books.

  3. 03

    Connect together

You sign in to your bank and agree to the consent, and we take you through linking each feed to its account and choosing the start date.

  4. 04

    Test the first downloads

We check the first downloads against your online banking, then show your team how to update and exclude, and the account holder how to renew.

General information

The bank connection and its yearly consent belong to the primary account holder, and a data sharing delegate is arranged with your bank. The Open Banking rules and your bank decide which account types can connect. We prepare QuickBooks, guide the connection and check what each feed downloads. Sources checked 16 October 2026.
