Book Keeping Pros home

Bookkeeping for real estate agencies

Real estate agencies earn commissions as sales settle and regular fees from the properties they manage, while marketing costs rise and fall with each listing. We look after day-to-day bookkeeping for real estate agencies across Australia.

What we look after

What the books involve

  • Sales commissions: commission and campaign amounts invoiced to vendors and recorded as each sale settles, with any commission shared with a conjunctional agent entered as a bill.
  • Property management fees: management, letting and routine inspection fees recorded as income each month and matched to the amounts received, so the rent roll's earnings are clear.
  • Marketing campaigns: listing portal fees, photography, floor plans, signboards and print advertising entered as supplier bills and matched to what vendors pay for their campaigns.
  • Franchise or network fees, portal subscriptions and CRM software recorded as regular costs, so the overheads of running the agency are easy to follow.
  • Monthly reports from Xero or MYOB that set sales commissions next to property management fees, with every bank and card account reconciled before the reports go out.
