Book Keeping Pros home

Bookkeeping for allied health practices

Psychologists, occupational therapists, speech pathologists, podiatrists and dietitians are paid session by session from several directions: clients, health funds, insurers, other funders and the organisations that contract their services. We look after day-to-day bookkeeping for allied health practices across Australia.

What we look after

What the books involve

  • Session payments: card payments taken in the clinic, online payments for telehealth appointments and gap amounts paid after a fund rebate reconciled against the practice software's payments report.
  • Third-party funders: sessions billed to an insurer, a plan manager or a government program tracked until paid, with each remittance matched to the client and the sessions it covers.
  • Contracted work: therapy, assessments and written reports provided to schools, employers or aged care homes invoiced to that organisation, with a monthly list of what each one still owes.
  • Cancellation fees: late cancellation and non-attendance charges raised in the practice software followed through until they are paid or the practice chooses to waive them, so the debtor list stays accurate.
  • Practice running costs: assessment tools and test forms, clinical software subscriptions, room rent and professional indemnity premiums entered as bills and coded to accounts that suit a health practice.
