Bookkeeping for consultants
Consultants are paid through invoices on each client's terms, and the costs of a project, from travel to subcontracted work, are often on-charged to the client. We look after day-to-day bookkeeping for consultants across Australia.

What the books involve
- Client invoices: milestone, retainer and hourly invoices tracked against client payments, with purchase order numbers and client references recorded so each payment can be traced to its invoice.
- Payment terms: a monthly list of unpaid invoices by due date, which shows when money is expected from clients on longer terms.
- Rechargeable expenses: flights, accommodation and other costs incurred for a client recorded against that client or project, which shows what is still to be on-charged.
- Associates and subcontractors: invoices for their part of a project entered as bills and matched to payments, with the cost shown against the project they worked on.
- Card spending: software subscriptions, co-working space and professional memberships coded to the right accounts, with receipts attached in Xero, MYOB or QuickBooks Online.
