Bookkeeping for laundries

Laundries and dry cleaners take many small payments at the counter or through coin and card machines, alongside regular invoices to hotels, clinics and other businesses for commercial work. We look after day-to-day bookkeeping for laundries across Australia.

What we look after

What the books involve

  • Drop-off orders: card and cash paid at the counter matched to the point of sale system's daily totals, with prepaid tickets tracked until the customer collects the garments.
  • Self-service machines: gross coin takings recorded separately from bank deposits, with collection counts, cash held and amounts banked reconciled. Each card payment provider's settlement for the washers and dryers is matched to the bank account.
  • Commercial accounts: linen and uniform work for hotels, restaurants, aged care homes and medical clinics invoiced on account, with a monthly list of customers who have not yet paid.
  • Linen and uniform hire: rental invoices raised on each customer's cycle, with lost or damaged items charged back and replacement stock recorded when it is bought.
  • Utilities and chemicals: water, gas and electricity bills, detergents, solvents and machine servicing coded consistently, which shows how running costs move with the volume of work.
  • Equipment finance: commercial washers, dryers, presses and boilers recorded with their loan or lease repayments, with each lender's statement checked against the loan account.
