Book Keeping Pros home

Bookkeeping for plasterers

Plasterers claim from builders as each house is sheeted, set and finished, and buy plasterboard, cornice and compound on trade accounts that grow quickly in busy periods. We look after day-to-day bookkeeping for plasterers across Australia.

What we look after

What the books involve

  • Stage claims: hanging, setting and cornice stages on each house claimed from the builder, with each payment checked against the claims made and any shortfall listed.
  • Plasterboard accounts: board, cornice, compound, beads and screws delivered for each house matched to the supplier's monthly statement, with unused sheets sent back to the supplier recorded as credits.
  • Fixers and setters: invoices from subcontracted fixers and setters, often priced by the square metre or by the house, entered against the job and paid on the terms agreed with them.
  • Rendering, ceiling repairs and patching for homeowners and property managers invoiced job by job and kept apart from builder income in the monthly profit and loss.
  • Trucks and equipment: board lifters, stilts, sanders and the truck that carries the board recorded as assets or running costs, with finance repayments split into interest and the amount owed.
  • Builder remittances: a single payment from a builder often covers several claims, so the payment is split across the right invoices before the bank account is reconciled each month.
