Bookkeeping for tilers
Tilers are paid by builders for new bathrooms and floors and by homeowners for renovations, and the tiles may be supplied by the client or the builder, or bought by the tiler and charged on. We look after day-to-day bookkeeping for tilers across Australia.

These counts are for the ANZSIC class Tiling and Carpeting Services, which also covers carpet laying, floor sanding and other floor coverings such as linoleum, so they describe a wider group than tilers alone. Businesses that mainly install roof tiles are counted in the class Roofing Services, so they are not in these counts.

What we look after
Small business bookkeeping
Builder invoices, tile bills and bank accounts reconciled each month.
Catch-up bookkeeping
Supplier credits and unmatched payments brought up to date.
Xero bookkeeping
Bank feeds connected and job invoices matched in Xero.
What the books involve
- Supply and lay or labour only: jobs where the tiler buys the tiles invoiced with materials shown apart from labour, and labour-only jobs invoiced for the work alone, so the margin on each kind of job reads correctly.
- Tile, adhesive and grout purchases: bills from tile showrooms and trade suppliers checked against what was ordered for each job, with returned boxes recorded as credits.
- Builder work: bathroom, laundry and floor stages on new homes invoiced to each builder, with payments matched to those invoices and anything still unpaid kept on a monthly list.
- Renovation clients: deposits and final invoices for bathroom makeovers and outdoor tiling recorded against each address, with card and bank transfer payments matched as they clear.
- Waterproofing and other work invoiced by other trades entered against the bathroom it was done in, so the full cost of each room is visible.
- Tile saws, mixers, levelling clips and diamond blades recorded apart from job materials, so the cost of equipment and consumables does not blur job costs in the monthly reports.
