Bookkeeping for physiotherapy practices

Physiotherapy practices take payment from patients and health funds after each appointment, while some treatment is billed to insurers and some is sold ahead as class passes. We look after day-to-day bookkeeping for physiotherapy practices across Australia.

What we look after

What the books involve

  • Appointment payments: card takings at the end of each session and health fund claims made on the spot reconciled to the bank, using the clinic software's daily payments report.
  • Insurer-funded treatment: invoices for injured workers and road accident patients tracked until the insurer pays, with each remittance matched to the sessions it covers.
  • Class passes and prepaid packs: sales recorded when the pass is bought, with the value of unused sessions shown separately where the practice tracks it that way.
  • Contractor invoices: bills from contracted clinicians and other providers entered as they arrive and checked against the clinic's records before they are paid.
  • Retail stock: braces, strapping tape and exercise bands sold to patients recorded apart from treatment income, with supplier bills for that stock entered as they come in.
