Book Keeping Pros home

Bookkeeping for landscapers

Landscaping projects take deposits and stage payments while materials, machinery and subcontractors are paid as the work goes in, and the busy months follow the seasons. We look after day-to-day bookkeeping for landscapers across Australia.

What we look after

What the books involve

  • Project deposits and stage payments: design and build jobs invoiced on the schedule agreed with the client, with each payment matched and the balance still owing kept current.
  • Landscape supplies: soil, mulch, turf, pavers, sleepers and plants from supply yards and nurseries entered against each project, so material costs can be compared with the quote.
  • Machinery: excavators, skid steers and trailers recorded with their finance repayments, and day hire of larger machines charged to the project that needed it.
  • Subcontracted work such as concreting, irrigation, fencing and retaining walls entered as each invoice arrives and allocated to the right project.
  • Tip fees, fuel and vehicle costs kept in their own accounts, which shows what waste disposal and travel between sites add to the cost of the work.
  • Seasonal patterns: accounts reconciled every month, so the busy and quiet parts of the year can be compared in the monthly reports.
