Xero bank feeds: connect and check

A Xero bank feed brings transactions from your bank into Xero once you approve the connection through your bank's own authorisation process. We add each account, choose how much history to bring in, check the first imports against your bank statements and set up file uploads for any account your bank doesn't feed. The details below are from Xero's own page.

What we do with Xero bank feeds

  • Add each business bank account under Accounting > Bank accounts in Xero, and connect its feed while you approve access at your bank.
  • Choose how far back to import when an account is first connected, and check those transactions against your bank statements.
  • Set up file uploads from your online banking for any account without a feed, checking a CSV file's data before it is imported.
  • Refresh a feed that has stopped updating, follow it up with your bank or Xero, and fill the gap with a file upload in the meantime.
  • Show your team where new transactions arrive, how to refresh a feed and what to do when one stops.

How we connect your bank to Xero

  1. 01

    List your accounts

We note each bank account the business uses and search Xero for its bank, to see which accounts can have a feed.

  2. 02

    Connect and approve

You follow your bank's authorisation process to give Xero read-only access, and we set how much history comes in.

  3. 03

    Check the first imports

We compare the imported history with your bank statements and sort out any account that needs a file upload instead.

  4. 04

    Hand over the routine

We walk your team through where transactions land, how to refresh a feed and how to spot one that has stopped.
