Spotlight Reporting set-up and imports

Spotlight Reporting imports your actuals, budgets and tracking from Xero into reports, forecasts and a dashboard. We reconcile the books first, run the import and build the reports your managers read. The plan prices and limits below come from Spotlight's Australian business pricing page and its Xero help article.

What we do in Spotlight

  • Authorise the connection to your Xero organisation and import the history you want to report on.
  • Bring in Xero budgets and tracking categories, so reports can be filtered by department, site or region.
  • Build a monthly report with the charts and commentary your managers ask for, and keep it as the layout for later months.
  • Set up a forecast with more than one scenario where you want to test a decision before making it.
  • Re-import each month once the books are reconciled, so the reports always sit on finished numbers.

How we set up Spotlight Reporting

  1. 01

    List the reports

We find out which reports, KPIs and forecasts your managers use now and which they are missing.

  2. 02

    Reconcile and import

We reconcile Xero, then import actuals, budgets and tracking into Spotlight.

  3. 03

    Design the pack

We build the report and dashboard layouts and check their totals against Xero.

  4. 04

    Refresh it monthly

Each month we import the new period and send out the updated pack.
