GoCardless and Xero: invoice debits

GoCardless builds its Xero integration, which collects payment for Xero invoices from the customer's bank account when each invoice is due. Once a payment is collected, the invoice is marked paid and the GoCardless fee is added as an expense. We connect it, help set customers up and reconcile each payout. The listing details below are from the Xero App Store.

What we do with GoCardless and Xero

  • Connect GoCardless to Xero and agree which customers and invoices it collects for.
  • Help you invite customers who pay regularly to give their payment details once, so each invoice is collected when it is due.
  • Check that collected invoices are marked paid and that the GoCardless fee lines post to the right expense account.
  • Match each GoCardless payout to its bank deposit, checking the payments and fees the payout details show.
  • Teach your team the routine: sending invoices on time for collection and checking the week's collections in Xero.

How we connect GoCardless to Xero

  1. 01

    Open and connect

You create a GoCardless account, online or from within Xero, with an active bank account, and connect it to Xero.

  2. 02

    Set customers up

We help you invite the customers who pay regularly to authorise collection.

  3. 03

    Follow the first collections

We check that collected invoices are marked paid and the fee lines post to the right account.

  4. 04

    Reconcile and train

We match payouts to the bank, then walk your team through the weekly routine.
