QuickBooks bookkeeping for sports clubs
Registrations pour in before the season starts, game days fill the canteen till, and the club shop sells jerseys and socks whenever families need them. We record that seasonal flow of money in QuickBooks and enter what the club owes its league or association as bills.

Registrations, game days and the club shop in QuickBooks
Most of the paperwork comes from the registration platform, the canteen and the bodies that run your competition.
- Payouts from your registration platform matched to the players they cover, with the platform's fees recorded as each payout report shows them and players still unpaid listed for the committee
- Fees paid ahead for the coming season tracked using the treatment your accountant specifies, with the committee able to see which payments belong to which season
- Affiliation, insurance and competition levies from your league or association entered as bills for the season they relate to
- Canteen and bar takings recorded from the till's sales report or the cash count sheet for each game day, compared with what was banked, and any gap noted for the treasurer
- Jerseys, socks, training gear and canteen lines tracked by quantity in QuickBooks when your plan includes inventory, so the club can check what's on hand before reordering
- With class tracking on your QuickBooks plan, a class each for registrations, the canteen, the club shop and fundraising, so each part of the club has its own figures
- Receipts from canteen shopping runs and equipment purchases captured in the QuickBooks phone app or sent by email, then matched or added from the For review tab
- Club accounts that Open Banking supports linked to QuickBooks, and every account reconciled against the bank's statement, with any difference explained, such as an unpresented cheque, a misposted entry or a bank error for the treasurer to take up with the bank
